Picture Larry David in a dragon suit performing magic tricks and you’ve got a “pretty” good idea of Piff the Magic Dragon’s unique act. Best known as a finalist on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent”, Piff, aka John van der Put, wears a dragon costume while combining wry humor with jaw-dropping illusions — oh yeah, and his assistant is a magic Chihuahua (also wearing a dragon costume). Sound bizarre? It is, but it’s working for him. Piff has appeared on “Penn & Teller: Fool Us”, scored more than 12 million YouTube hits and performed everywhere from Radio City Music Hall to Shakespeare’s Globe to the Sydney Opera House. Now you can catch his new one-hour solo show on the Las Vegas Strip at Bugsy’s Cabaret at the Flamingo.
